ADD New Zealand Trust - Endorsement

Diagnosis of ADD, ADHD, PDD, Aspergers or Autism warrants immediate referral to MedicAlert® to protect the interests, safety and rights of the individual.

Anxiety is considered  a significant issue

People diagnosed with these conditions can have behaviour that is out of the norm or possibly even somewhat alarming to other people be it at school or in the community at large.

Behavioural issues can become escalated

With anxiety based fight or flight, or shocked immobility, reactions can potentially result in extreme behaviours that the Police may otherwise consider suspicious or illegal.

False confessions due to anxiety are also a serious risk

The legal processes that follows as a consequence of false confessions, adds significant and unnecessary stress for the Patient and their family that can often be expensive and take long periods of time to resolve through the court system.

A MedicAlert® Membership and Emblem can significantly improve the outcome of interaction with law enforcement agencies.

The police can immediately be notified that they are dealing with an individual that has a diagnosed condition that requires serious consideration and appropriate treatment or action that is consistent with New Zealand National Policing policies.

A MedicAlert® Membership can provide access to Vital Patient information that results in appropriate treatment and support for the Patient being sort in a timely manner along with the contact of key people who support the Patient.

If you or a family member has been clinically diagnosed with one of these conditions, the ADD NZ Trust seriously recommends that you (or they) Enrol with MedicAlert.
