I joined Medic Alert so long ago, I can't remember the exact date. I have had Type 1 diabetes for 53 years and use an insulin pump. I rely on my Medic Alert bracelet to speak for me when I am unable to do so for myself..more often than not because of a hypoglycaemic episode where I am quite likely to lose consciousness due to a loss of hypo warning signs.
I recommend Medic Alert to all people I know who are on serious medication (insulin, warfarin etc) as there are times when we are unable to communicate our information when emergency treatment is necessary.
